In 2010, the world computer market will grow by 20 percent

В 2010 году мировой рынок компьютеров вырастет на 20 процентовIn 2010, sales of computers in the world will grow by almost 20 percent, according to a press release, IDC. It is expected that all will be sold more than 350 million computers.
The bulk of sales will account for portable systems. IDC projects the end of the year in the world will be purchased 217 million notebooks and netbooks. The growth compared to the year 2009 will amount to 28.6 percent. Sales of conventional PCs will exceed 137 million units, but growth for the year amount to only 8 per cent.

IDC also reported long-term forecast for the period up to 2014. According to the company, in 2014 around the world will be sold around 570 million computers. Nearly 427 million will be in portable computers.

In its assessment was based on the IDC data on sales of computers in the first quarter of 2010. During this period, the market for computers grew by 27 percent compared with January-March 2009. It should be noted that in April, IDC has calculated that the increase was only 24 per cent, but subsequently made a correction in the calculation.
