The Corporation sold its 100 millionth smartphone RIM BlackBerry. This writes InformationWeek by reference to the financial report RIM.The report of the company for the first quarter of 2010 says that three months RIM has sold 11.2 million smartphones, which is a record figure.
Last year the number of subscribers RIM rose by 60 percent to 46 million. During the first quarter RIM has 4,9 million registered accounts.
Net profit amounted RIM 768 million dollars, while revenues for the year grew from 3.42 billion to $ 4.24 billion. The Corporation also has a 3.27 billion of free capital, which allows it to buy assets when necessary.
In the near future to upgrade RIM BlackBerry, and by the end of the year plans to release a Tablet PC. Thus, the corporation will be a direct competitor to Apple, not only in the production of mobile phones, but also in the segment plates. Under the operating system Apple iOS also employs approximately 100 million units, but not all of them are mobile phones.
