Several thousand applications for the mobile operating system Android is potentially unsafe, says a study the company S Mobile Systems.
Every fifth application requests permission to access to private or other sensitive information that can be used by hackers. Five percent of the applications require the ability to make calls without permission, and 2 per cent can send SMS without the knowledge of the user, including the premium rate numbers.
